How are scores calculated?
Inputs to the score calculation
There are several values that are used to calculate score within forms
-
Points scored for the selected answer - this is a number between 0 and 1 that is attributed to the response(s) for the answers to a question. By default this value is set to 1.
-
For List questions, the Points are attributed to the individual values in the List that is used for responses when defining the list (See How do I set up Lists? and Selection List for more details)
-
For YesNo questions, the Points are defined between 0 and 1 (inclusive, and up to two decimal places) for Yes and No responses (see YesNo for more details)
-
For Rating questions, Timegate Web automatically allocates a value between 0 and 1. 1 is attributed to the highest rating, 0 the lowest (see Ratingfor more details)
-
-
Question weight - this is the weight that is allocated to an individual question with a given section. This is a value between 0 and 10 inclusive, defined to up to two decimal places. By default the value is one (see for more details)
-
Section weight - this is the weight that is allocated to an individual section with a given form. This is a value between 0 and 10 inclusive, defined to up to two decimal places. By default the value is one (see for more details)
The score calculation
The total available score for a question is calculated as follows:
Points (0-1) x Question weight (0-10) x Section weight (0-10)
The achieved points score for a question is calculated as:
Points (scored) x Question weight x Section weight
Examples
The examples in the table below illustrate how scoring works in the following scenario
A form comprises 3 questions across 2 sections as defined (Section 1 has a Section Weighting of 5, Section 2 has a Section Weighting of 10):
-
Question 1 (in Section 1 with a weight of 10) -Was the problem resolved? (YesNo question)
-
Question 2 (in Section 1 with a weight of 5) - How quickly did you repond? (List question)
-
Question 3 (in Section 2 with a weight of 2) - How satisfied was the customer? (Rating Question)
The following table shows the scores associated with the various responses. The total score for all questions across the sections is 175.
