How do I determine what is Paid and what is Billed?

The following 0 min 41 sec clip stalks you through the setitngs associated with paying (or not) and billing (or not) an extra hour when daylight savings occur.

The following settings from within the Branch’s General page allow you to do this:

  • Pay Summer Time Hour - If an employee works a duty which spans into summer time (when the clocks go forward), then the employee will have completed 1 hour less than their scheduled duty, i.e. if the employee was on a 12 hour shift from 1900 to 0700 when the clocks changed, they would have only worked 11 hours. When selected the employee will be paid for the hour that they effectively did not work (paid for the scheduled 12 hours). If not selected then they would only be paid for the actual hours that they worked (paid for the 11 hours worked).
  • Pay Winter Time Hour - If an employee works a duty which spans into winter time (when the clocks go back), then the employee will have completed 1 hour extra than their scheduled duty, i.e. if the employee was on a 12 hour shift from 1900 to 0700 when the clocks changed, they would have worked 13 hours. When selected the employee will be paid for the extra hour worked (paid for the 13 hours worked). If not selected then they would not be paid for the extra hour worked (paid for the scheduled 12 hours).
  • Bill Summer Time Hour - If an employee works a duty which spans into summer time (when the clocks go forward), then the employee will have completed 1 hour less than the scheduled duty, i.e. if the employee was on a 12 hour shift from 1900 to 0700 when the clocks changed, they would have only worked 11 hours. When selected the customer will be billed for the hour that the employee effectively did not work (billed for the scheduled 12 hours). If not selected then the customer will be billed for the actual hours that the employee worked (billed for the 11 hours worked).
  • Bill Winter Time Hour - If an employee works a duty which spans into winter time (when the clocks go back), then the employee will have completed 1 hour extra than their scheduled duty, i.e. if the employee was on a 12 hour shift from 1900 to 0700 when the clocks changed, they would have worked 13 hours. When selected the customer will be billed for the extra hour worked (billed for the 13 hours worked). If not selected then the customer will not be billed for the extra hour worked (billed for the scheduled 12 hours)

Note: Before going any further, you need to set yourself up as a user, allocate yourself to the branch and add a functional role (User Set Up (P3)). You will not be able to see the branch or continue with the branch set up outlined over the following pages if you do not do this
