The main menu at the top of the page comprises:

• Menu Ribbon - select the functional task you are interested in (for example SET UP)
• Sub Menu - this is displayed upon selecting a menu button. There are two buttons within each choice - the main option (for example Employees) which opens the default page and a V. Select V to view the Breadcrumbs
• Breadcrumbs - these items are the last five records that have been loaded. They give you fast access to your work
• Search Box - from here you can enter your search terms, or configure the settings using the Settings Cog
• User details, settings, instance switching - from here you can modify how your system works, change the instance you are viewing and sign out

From this part of the screen the user is presented several options that work as follows:

• Select User Settings to access your Timegate Webe user settings such as what is shown on the variouus screens and how the product will work for you. To find out more see How do I configure the way Timegate Web looks and works?

• Select Sign out - to sign out of Timegate Web at the end of your session or to refresh results as instructed when making some changes in Timegate Web

• Select an instance - if you are working in an environment where you have multuple instances of Timegate Web (such as a production version and a testing version) you can switch between the instances by selection the appropriate one here. Your instance and user credentials are shown in the blue bar at the top of screen (as shown above) for quick reference

Many of Timegate Web's pages have a pick list side menu/search bar. This is made up of:

• Show/Hide - select this to show/hide the menu/pick list
• Filter/Choice/Search - this does one of two things, depending upon the screen. It either filters your search or it provides you with access to other setting screens
• Search Box and GO/SEARCH - Enter keywords into the search box and select GO/SEARCH to speed up your search
• Pick List - select  to open a page of settings/search result item
• Pick List Navigation - to speed up looking through your results, use <PREV and NEXT> to look through the results

Within individual pages, there are often context sensitive Toolbars. These change depending upon the screen - an example of one is shown above with the Pick list. Furthermore, they will change depending on which items are selected. This makes it easier for you to see what actions can be applied to your given selection.
