What is an exception?

This term is used to describe the facility to build simple logic into a form question response. Whilst providing your services, your company will benefit from being able to gather further details and evidence when problems occur when members of your team complete a form. This information can be fed back to your customers keeping them informed of actions undertaken along with reasons why. Evidence that can be collected comprises:

  • A response justifying the choice (shown on the form as a drop down list that requires a mandatory response)

  • Photographic evidence and comments (either or both can be added to an exception)

The feature supports responses to List, Selection List, Rating and Yes/No type questions.

When a response is triggered, the user is prompted to enter their reason for the exception as follows "Why did you answer [response] to [question]?" where [response] is their answer to the initial question that was asked [question]. The user selects their answer to the exception question from either a list (where they need to provide a single answer) or a selection list (where they can select multiple answers). Exception responses are mandatory. If the user doesn't answer the exception, they are prompted to do so, and will only be able to proceed when they give an answer.

In addition to their initial response, a user can be prompted to provide photographic or textural evidence following their exception response.

When a photographic response is required, the user is further prompted with " provide a photo for why you chose [response] to [question]"

When a comment is required, the user is further prompted with Why did you answer [response] to [question]?
