What is a Voicemail task?

A Voicemail task is a unique help desk task type in the way that it works and what it does. There is only one allowed instance of it in any Timegate Web database. This type of task enables the employee to leave a message for their superior (who is defined in an escalation group). When an employee calls into clock-in, if they select the Voicemail option, then they will be asked to record their message. Once recorded and confirmed by the employee, the message will be stored on a publicly accessed server. The Voicemail help desk task will be created within the Timegate Web database. Meanwhile, an email will be sent around the members of the Voicemail associated escalation group. From within the email, they will be able to select a URL to listen to the voicemail. Alternatively, they can search through the task list to find and listen to the voicemail.

Note: If a recording has just been created then you will receive a warning message and must wait a few minutes before the message can be heard.

Note 2: Voicemail when calling clock-in is different to Voicemail in the Employee App. When Voicemail is selected in the Employee App, a pre-defined number such as a Call Room or answering service will be called. This telephone number is configured using a number you supply, by TEAM Software by WorkWave when the Employee App is set up.
