What is Rate Generation?

After duties have been arbitrated, Rate Generation takes place. Rate Generation is the process by which Duties and Diary events have their pay and bill information calculated within Timegate Web. It calculates Bank Holiday pay and bill premiums along with overtime payments. It also sets up the duties so that the correct hours are included in the correct week.

For Duties, this happens at each phase of the duty if configured; Contracted, Scheduled, Operational, Actual, Pay/Bill. Each phase is made up of a pay and a bill line (not to be confused by the Pay/Bill phase).

Diary events only have one phase which is the Pay phase. Diary events are not billed in Timegate Web.

Rate Generation is normally configured to happen automatically at a duty or diary event level. A user can schedule a rate generation to happen through Timegate Web in the Queues screen by Branch, Site or Employee. It is possible to manually trigger Rate Generation from Manage | Rate Gen Jobs.
