Option To Enable Overtime Rates Based On Different Overtime Pay/Bill Schedules
The following 3 min 45 sec video demonstrates how to set up a Duty Overtime Profile t taking advantage of the new feature of being able to separate how overtime is paid to employees and then how it is billed to your customers
In this second 4 min 38 sec video, the Duty Overtime Profile will be assigned to an employee and a site:
This enhancement enables your business to separate how overtime is paid to employees and then how it is billed to your customers i.e. the hours worked on a given shift can be paid and billed using different overtime schedules. Employees are paid using one profile with one set of rules for overtime, but are billed to the customer using a different profile and associated set of rules. Overtime may not even be billed at all to the customer. This is a popular way of operating in Ireland, Canada and the USA.
Historically, pay and bill duty and period overtime rates have been configured in Timegate Web at an employee level, using the same profile. Pay and bill have been tied to each other. To enable this enhancement, Timegate Web has been updated so that duty overtime profiles or period overtime can be applied at both an employee level (for pay) and a site level (for bill).
For end-users of Timegate Web, the changes to the interface are minimal (on the Employee, Site Card and Finance Settings - Duty Overtime Profile screens). It is the processing behind the scenes when rate generation is undertaken that has been updated significantly to support this. The following screens are updated:
- Set Up | Employees | Pay Details tab - Overtime Details - Pick Duty Overtime Profiles - new Pay/Bill drop-down
- Set Up | Site - General tab - Site Billing panel introduced to assign duty overtime details
- Admin | Finance | Duty Overtime Profiles - two changes have been made here. The ability to specify a different multiplier (for both Duty Overtime 1 (DOT1) and DOT 2) at the profile level and the ability to add duty overtime thresholds/multipliers for Public Holidays in addition to days of the week.
NOTE: By default, Pay/Bill is the default setting when selecting the overtime profiles
