It is increasingly common for customers to use absence entitlement and accrual based on hourly rates for those who work infrequently, with a variable working pattern or on zero hour contracts. Although this makes sense for the employer, it makes it difficult for the employee to understand their entitlements in days to take off. The Employee Portal has been updated so that those employees whose holiday entitlement is based on a contracted multiplier rule in hours, see a daily equivalent amount too. Entitlement, Requested Holiday, Taken Holiday and Remaining Holiday are all shown in both days and hours. This helps to avoid confusion.
